Radon is an odorless, colorless, and tasteless gas that is radioactive, produced by underground by naturally occurring uranium deposits. Radon has been shown through research and testing to be of potential concern in every state.

Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in the United States for non-smokers. The US EPA estimates that there are over 6000 deaths every year from radon related lung cancer.

The US EPA suggests that all structures, especially homes, be tested for radon. For structures where radon levels are above 4 PicoCuries per Liter (pCi/L), it is recommended that some form of mitigation be undertaken, often times in the form of a fan with a separate vent line.

Radon testing starts at $150 for a residence that is 2500 sq. feet or less, and requiring 3 or less monitors.
In most cases (including all residential cases) an electronic monitor will be used, with results available the same day the test is concluded. For commercial buildings and larger or more complex homes, multiple monitors will be needed, depending upon the size and configuration of the building. To test buildings of this sort, a price will need to be quoted on a per job basis. As the house size and configuration becomes larger and more complex, additional equipment is required, and may require an additional, marginal cost. Kinightic Corporation uses the latest in electronic equipment, for fast and accurate test results, with results usually being available the same day the test is concluded.
